The LGBTQI (Lesbian Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Intersex) communities and people have long been the victims of minority stress, discrimination, stigma and prejudice. 75% of victims of Homophobic/Transphobic hate crime do not report or are fearful of reporting it to criminal justice authorities. Casual comments and bigoted response have massive effects on the lives of those individuals and the communities. Authorities have recognised this as a serious gap in their ability to deliver effective services to those communities and need support and help to be able to break down the barriers of distrust and fear.
QuerKey intends to be a solution to that set of problems by providing a service that will train and support the organisations in their route to improving those communications and relationships with LGBTQI communities and individuals. It will bring over 20 years of experience in the third sector working in that community and with member of the communities along with working strategically organisations such as Local Authorities, Criminal Justice agencies, Health organisations and the private sector to the focus of QuerKey.
